Homework

Is homework compulsory???After having discussions with Dept of Ed I was informed that it was up to the school in question discretion. Also being a parent that has assisted with my childrens received homework I was wondering if the text books from where the photocopying of the homework originated could be supplied to the parents.

If children struggle with their homework tasks then it's just an unnecessary stress on students.
Children don't need homework in the weekends by the way. They have a life don't they? outside of school.

Comment by MySchool on January 30, 2010 at 17:14: Homework is not compulsory, at least not in NSW Public Schools. As for the textbooks, you'll need to talk to the teacher and they can tell you where to buy it.

The discussion as to whether homework is a good thing or a bad thing is still raging. I don't agree with homework for Primary students but I think High School students need it.
