National Solar Programme and Unflued Gas Heaters

It is great to see the promotion for a National Solar programme on this site. Unfortunately, our school, Katoomba Public, has unflued gas heaters as the main source of heating. Banned in other States, this cheap form of heating seems to be deemed good enough for our kids despite the respiratory problems it brings.Blackheath has attracted funding to replace their unflued heaters and congratulations to them. Of the Public schools in the area, Newbridge Heights has an excellent reputation. Holsworthy has a very good Kindergarten program. Both Wattle Grove and Hammondville are very good schools too.
