Im really concerned about my daughter being openly critisied by a tchr infront of her peers. This particular tchr was speaking to another tchr about my daughter out in the playground in the presence of other students. These Students went to my daughter to tell her what had been said. She was really hurt that a tchr would say this about her. As a parent Im mad because she could have broken my daughters spirit, love for learning and dynamics for my daughter amongst her peers and school life. To top it off the coordinator of the school rung home that day and advised me the comment was to be taken as sarcasim and nothing more, ohh and it was my daughters behaviour that triggerd the comment and perhaps she needed to keep an eye on her behaviour.

I have sent a letter of complaint to the Director of the school and had no reply, not that I asked for one but what do I do so that this tchr is held accountable. No apology has been given to her so as a result my daughter holds alot of hate for her and she is not a child who hates, she is quiet a free spirit that holds no grudges.

To Te Rina,

How horrible that someting like this has happened to your daughter. The teacher behaved very unprofessionally discussing anything private about a student regardless of what a child has or has not done. What really gets me peeved off is that they backed up the teacher's loathsome behaviour instead of redirecting the teacher to keep their sarcastic comments to themselves. This shouldn't have happened regardless, and especially not to another teacher, even if they were an immediate teacher of your child.

The fact that this was overheard in the playground by her peers is also of concern. This has deeply affected your child and is completely understandable.

Does the school have an Ombudsman? They should be the next person to approach regarding the privacy of your child. If the school doesn't have one, you could google you local state government website and look up the Ombudsman for your state. Find out what can be done.

Kind regards,

Simona
