i was just wondering if it would be a good idea to make it aware to other parents about bullying issues with different schools too??

I think it's an idea worth thinking about. My daughter was bullied all through Primary School and we both found it very distressing and frustrating. Nothing seemed to be done about it, although I reported it enough, even to the Police. It still happens in her High School but she has grown "thicker skin" and it only reduces her to tears occasionally.

Please dont think for a minute that its only affects her sometimes she may put a thicker skin but she may be saying that to only to keep you from being stressed or upset.. Take from someone who has also been through it. Police, communication companies do jack crap..

fight for their rights to a decent education, never for a second think children dont bottle up their feelings. i refuse to stand for rubbish these EDUCATION BOARDS give out..read what DAVE said about bullying. i found it disgusting he could put it like that!!
media is the way to go if nothing is done. i did and got good progress.

jodie i have to disagree with you as i bought my children up by my self and it was other children that bullied and bashed them as they said to my children your not normal as you live with your father and i must say i also told my children if i found out that they where fighting or doing anything wrong at school i personaly would take them back to the school and they would be in big trouble if i had to do that

Bullying is much too common in schools - my brother was bullied, and the schools response was constantly to pull him from the situation and take him out of class, as that was easier than removing multiple bullies. My brother was even suspended for defending himself! Parents need to be made aware of the culture within a school, how this can be done I am not sure, and also, teaching staff need to be more vigilant and better equipped to deal with these issues. My brother is a very intelligent person who loved going to school prior to bullying, and it is very disappointing that the school did not support him.
I also think this, or a similar site, needs to show parents the sporting, cultural, arts etc of a school is!

My son was bullied continuously in year 7 by another student in the same class. It was dealt with but it was far too late when they did deal with it. It had already made an impact on him that made him focus on it every time he went to school. Parents who have children who bully should made accountable for it. Thats how I feel. It can not be left up to only the school and a call in of the parents to talk over the matter. It has to be taken further by the bully having to attend therapy for a long term to retify and get to the underlying truth as to why he or she keeps repeating the behaviour.

People who bully others need to be shown what it is like, as they do it because making others feel small makes them feel big. They need to be knocked off their imaginary throne and embarrassed. I did this to quite a few of my brothers bullies and they didn't bully him anymore, as they knew they would only get it back. Not the most mature way to deal with it, but when it worked and what the school was doing doesn't.
Parents should be made accountable, the problem in my brothers case (as this is the situation I know about, different schools may be different) was that the parents of the bullies weren't even contacted! No records were kept, so each time they bullied him, it was classed as their "first time" or my brother was labelled a liar as there were no records saying this had been happening for months etc..

OHH i agree..... i remember when the caine was in...wow... kids knew not to push the whole deal....
sick of schools thinking they are high and mighty.... and EDUCATION BOARD doing the same.... i went to the media.....more ppl need to...DONT BE AFRAID TO EXPOSE THE BAD SCHOOLS our kids have only one self esteem...dont blow it!!!

hold the parents accountable is a great idea, but 90% of the time the parents dont know they are doing this, even if the school involved knows with today's technology they are able to hide behind phones and computer screens, and where a site is created to hurt the person being bullied you try and have it removed. when you go to authorities they just put it in the too hard basket. Yes they can delete and block but if they dont know who is doing it then what chance do the children have.

Of the Public schools in the area, Newbridge Heights has an excellent reputation. Holsworthy has a very good Kindergarten program. Both Wattle Grove and Hammondville are very good schools too.
