Q: How does it work?

MySchool discount cards are provided to a significant but limited number of schools, free of charge. Presently MySchool operates in Penrith, Sutherland and Campbelltown. We're expanding the program across Sydney in 2008. Other areas including Melbourne and Brisbane will follow.

Each region has an allocation of 10,000 free cards per year. Any school within those regions can apply for free cards which they can sell to parents for $20. MySchool will supply your school with one card for each family.

Schools that are late to apply may miss out and may have to wait for an opening in future years. CLICK HERE TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT

ParticipatingSchools are not required to report sales figures or inventory to MySchool. Any accounting or stock control is at the discretion of the school or parent body running the MySchool Discount Card fundraiser. MySchool does not require any payments from schools.

Q: Why would parents buy a MySchool card?

The card entitles parents to discounts from suppliers listed on this website. In many cases the parents will recover the $20 the first time they use the card. From then on they save money with every puchase from an authorised MySchool merchant. Parents save money with the card. Their school makes money. The merchants get customers. Everybody wins with MySchool.

Q: How do I register my card?
Visit MySchool.com.au and click on ‘Activate your card’. Enter your name, school and card number and submit.

Q: Does everyone in my family need an individual card?
A: No. Everyone in the family may use the same card if desired.

Q: I just received my card. Can I use it right away?
A. You should first activate your card from the homepage on this website.

Q: How much will I save?
A. The special offers and discount vary from merchant to merchant and from time to time. Their current discount is described on the website and can be viewed by clicking on the merchant’s banner.

Q: What kind of businesses participate?
A. MySchool seeks to enlist the participation of all responsible companies who are committed to the community and the growth and development of healthy school children. You won't find tobacco stores or lolly shops but you will find gyms, schoolwear, holiday activities and optometrists to name just a few.

Q: Are the offers good for a one time use or repeated uses?
A. The offer is good every time you, as the cardholder, visit their store or use their service.

Q: What kind of offers are on the card?
A. Offers vary from percentage discounts, to extra services, to special gifts.

Q. How can I get my favourite business to join MySchool?
A. Nominate your favourite business by contacting MySchool. Our staff will speak to your favourite business about the MySchool Discount Card Scheme.

Q. What if I have been refused a discount?
A. Please contact MySchool and our staff will follow-up your complaint and advise you of the outcome.

Q. What if I have received excellent service?
A. You can acknowledge good service by reporting your favourite business for a Business Excellence Award. Click here to nominate a business.

Q. Are there any special conditions on discounts?
A. Some MySchool Discount Card discounts are not available on special items, sale items or at peak holiday times.

Q. When should I tell the business that I have a MySchool Card ?
A. It is important for you to advise the business that you hold a MySchool Discount Card to ensure you receive your discount. Please make the vendor aware that you hold a MySchool Discount Card during your price negotiation.

Q. What if I purchase an item from a MySchool Discount Card business, and later discover that I may have been entitled to a MySchool discount?
A. All MySchool Discount Card businesses have only agreed to honour their special offer at the time of purchase or order. Discounts can not be redeemed retrospectively.

Q. My Discount card has been stolen or is lost. How do I get a new card?
A. Email myschool here with your details and we will send you a new card. If your card isn't registered, a $20 fee applies.

Q. Is it possible to support more than one school?
A. No, the card is the property of the school who offers it to you and the money must be forwarded to them.

Q. What percentage of the card sale price is paid to the school?
A. 100%


Q. Who owns MySchool?
A. MySchool Australia Promotions is wholly owned by Walkerden Resources Pty Ltd (ACN: 106 770 487) which is an Australian proprietary limited company that is wholly Australian owned and operated.

Q. Why do I receive marketing emails?
A. When you activated your MySchool Discount card, you were asked for permission to send you MySchool updates and related material. If you have answered yes to this, you will receive marketing material. To unsubscribe please click here. and enter the word "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.

Q. Is it possible to support an another charity or learning institution besides a school?
A. Yes. Schools, including Public and non-Government schools are currently eligible for the MySchool programme as well as institutuions that benefit children in a direct way (subject to prior approval).

Q. I have had a negative service experience at a MySchool Mechant and would like to bring it to your attention.
