DESCRIPTION:Kingswood College in association with the Christian Resear
 ch Association and the Uniting Church, Synod of Victoria and Tasmania 
 present the 2010 Australian Conference for educators of today and tomo
 rrow: Educating for a Purposeful Life.\n\nThe conference has four aims
 :\n\n•To explore the psychology of positive wellbeing, spirituality 
 and purpose.\n•To examine contemporary youth culture and its relatio
 nship to sense of purpose.\n•To provide workshops on existing and po
 tential curriculum frameworks.\n•To equip educators with the means t
 o assist young people to find purpose in life.\n\nThursday 5th August 
 2010\nSpeakers include:\nDr June de Vaus – psychologist and author. 
 June is currently writing a book on positive psychology.\nDr Helen McG
 rath – senior lecturer in education at Deakin University, who has wr
 itten widely on ways to promote student wellbeing.\nDr Graham Rossiter
  – professor of religious education at Australian Catholic Universit
 y who has explored the development of meaning and purpose in life.\nFr
  Chris Middleton – principal of St Aloysius College, NSW who will sp
 eak about the impact of school retreat on today’s teenagers.\nRev Dr
  Philip Hughes – chair of Kingswood College and senior reseach offic
 er of the Christian Research Association. Philip will discuss what sch
 ools can do to develop the sense of purpose in lives of their students
 ’.\n\n\nFriday 6th August 2010\nSpeakers include:\nDi Fleming – pa
 st principal and consultant on developing student passions and interes
 ts.\nDr Tim Sprod – teacher who has developed a curriculum on philos
 ophy for students.\nDr Peter Kaldor – author of books on leadership 
 and wellbeing. He is developing leadership curricula which will encour
 age students to make the world a better place.\nPeter Cooper – direc
 tor of Burke Hall, Xavier College. Peter will discuss how to create a 
 culture of passion which taps into the interests and skills of student
